What it is
AcadX is a management suite for schools and colleges — the kind of software that touches every role in an institution, from admissions to the classroom to accounts. I own both the product design and the engineering.
Status: in development. Expected to launch in 2026.
The problem
Most school software is built by vendors who never sit with the people using it. The result is interfaces that fight teachers, admins, and students every day. AcadX starts from the other end: quietly capable UI that respects the user’s time.
What I did
- Designed the product from the information architecture down to the component level.
- Chose TanStack Start for a type-safe, file-based full-stack React story without lock-in, and Convex for realtime data + server functions without the operational overhead of a traditional backend.
- Built core modules: admissions, attendance, gradebook, fee/accounts, and messaging.
- Iterating through design reviews with pilot institutions, tightening flows based on how teachers and admins actually work.
Outcome
Pre-launch. Core modules are built and being refined ahead of the 2026 launch.
